AJAR magazine is my personal project. The idea goes back several years to when my friends and I would make paper magazines for each other every month or so. They didn't contain many images other than hand drawn ones and were mostly text, which is how they differ significantly from AJAR. Why an online magazine? Simply because it's the easiest format to use for a magazine without spending money! I was also stubborn in my decision to make a magazine in the conventional sense rather than a webzine or such. I create issues sporadically on whims because I tend to operate on impulse; as a result, most of the stuff in each issue is just a compilation of the photography and art that I and the people around me have created in recent months.
I'm not sure how long I will continue creating this magazine, but in future issues I hope to expand to include more words (I'm more of a picture person!) which means more poetry, articles, interviews etc. If you have any feedback/comments/contributions, please don't hesitate to email me!
